Life in the world can get very, very confusing. What seems to be truth isn't always and can often lead to pain and frustration.

Without hope, many people turn to drugs and alcohol to medicate their pain, stop their noisy heads and gain a mere moment of peace. Unfortunately, what they thought was giving them relief now has an even more painful grip on them. They believed a lie, but now its too late - they're blinded by their addiction.

Life now is about feeding the addiction. Forget the problems they once had. They now have a new and very real problem; one that must now be faced day by day, hour by hour and minute by minute leaving very little time for anything else. Life is escaping them and they no longer care. Some are completely defeated and wish they had never been born. Others resolve themselves to this hopeless existence. Many die painful, lonely deaths.

But for some, a different story can be told. Their story is a story of hope and freedom. Theirs is a story of new life.

This new life only comes with an endless amount of learning, searching, letting go. It doesn't come in a package or in a vacuum. It comes with a lot of help and support from others dealing with the same issues. These men can no longer hide in isolation. They must admit their failures and face their fears. They must learn to be honest with themselves, with others, and most of all, with their Creator.

Sometimes this requires time and a place of safety. By learning sound biblical principles and working the 12-Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, these men develop new life skills, develop a sound spirituality, and begin the process of recovery. While no recovery program is neither perfect nor can guarantee success, with sincere surrender, and an honest look at oneself turning their lives over to the care of God, these men often leave changed for life!
