Toddler Nursery

By the time a child celebrates his or her second birthday, he has already shown a strong indication of the person he is becoming. Personality traits are obvious. In no other two year period of life will such dramatic and long lasting changes occur.

At Hope, loving caregivers minister to young children who have just started walking. One of the goals for toddlers is to begin to associate God with loving people and enjoyable activities. Teacher Elizabeth Giron uses music, small motor activities (puzzles, sorting toys), creative play and other things to help children towards this goal.

Another goal is that children will feel secure and loved at church by having physical and emotional needs adequately met by caring adults. Caring times (snack, changing) and simple conversation are some of the ways Teacher Elizabeth helps the young children feel secure.

Elizabeth also meets the spiritual needs of the toddlers. They seek to develop an awareness of the name of Jesus and associate Him with being loved. Using Bible picture books, they relate to the children at their own level.

The Toddler Nursery is open during the morning worship service each Sunday.
